INSOMNIA : DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

Abstract

Insomnia, from the Latin, means ¢¥not sleeping¢¥ or ¢¥no sleep¢¥, however, insomnia is not ¢¥no sleep, nor short sleep¢¥. It is a complaint of sleeping poorly.
Insomnia is not an illness for which a sleeping pill is the cure, but a symptom that can have many causes.
Because sleep is the psychophysiological phenomenon and causes of insomnia are muliple rather than single, multidimensional approachsuch as psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, behavior therpy are need to treatment of insomnia.
The author reviewed the etiology and therapy of insomnia.
